My thoughts on Tech and life.

What time does God's watch say?

This morning Stacy said something to Emily that got me thinking about rest, and how we are to rest in God and Jesus.  Jesus says in Matthew 11 28-30.

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

So anyway I decided to look up rest in the topical indexes for the bible and I found this interesting article: http://bibletools.org//index.cfm/fuseaction/Library.sr/CT/BS/k/499  The key question that stood out at me was number 6.

Does Christ's rule, called "God's rest" in Hebrews, last a thousand years? Hebrews 4:1-10; Revelation 20:4.

Comment: Hebrews 4 shows a connection between God's rest on the Sabbath day during the creation week and the thousand-year reign of Christ, commonly called the "Millennium." It is logical to conclude that the other six days of Creation typify 6,000 years of man's government on earth. Thus, God has a 7,000-year plan to bring humanity into His Family, and we find ourselves near the end of man's allotted 6,000 years!

WOW!!!  I hadn't heard that before.  Now I have to admit here that I really enjoy the prophetical parts of the Bible, especially Isaiah, Daniel and of course Revelation.

So what to do with this?  My first course of action (besides posting it here Smile) will be to dig into the author and see how well respected he is.  Do any other well known theologins feel the same way?  If they do then this really makes me excited.

I know throughout history people have always thought "the end is near".  But I have to admit that I feel that way too.  Now what is near?  I don't know.  2 minutes?  200 years?  I dunno.  But I feel that society has reached a state of depravity that just can't continue.  In past instances God has dealt with individual areas or cities when their depravity has reached a certain state.  Now, it isn't just one city, or country or continent, it is every city in every country on every continent (except maybe Antarctica).  I think God will "do something" soon.  I tend to believe in pre-tribulation theory and I sure hope God does too, cause I sure don't want my family or me to have to survive through the tribulation period.

So anyway, just some light reading and hopefully thought provoking questions from that article.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18

"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."
