I’m stealing this from Bride, but since her blog is private, I thought I’d share this here.
In 2008:
• We left a job that we had taken just 4 months prior…that would have moved our family to Mexico!
• We interviewed for, and declined a job in North Carolina
• We went 6 months without a job, and leaned on God’s provision
• We gave up some major dreams & goals for our life, in exchange for doing God’s will for our life – in other words, gave up a lot of control!
• We went 40 days with no TV
• We spent 8 days camping in Arkansas with no tv, internet or cell phone – just me, Bride & Bug!
• We signed up to be certified foster parents so we could babysit for some friends
• We ended up becoming foster parents ourselves – so far to 2 adorable little girls
• We had our hearts softened and opened to some possibilities that we had previously said “never” to!
• We went strawberry picking!
• We went camping several times – as a family, and with friends
• Bug caught her first fish
• Our baby girl turned 4!
• We bought a motorcycle, a minivan, and 3 car seats!
• Bride had a cancer scare – a cancerous bump on her elbow that involved a CT scan, brain MRI, then surgery to remove the bump and lymph nodes from her underarm
• We voted in another presidential election
• We learned a lot of very important lessons that God has taught us through our children
What did God do in your life last year? I have a hard time thinking that things are going on. It always seems like just the same old same old, but when I am able to look back in retrospect, I see all sorts of things that happened.
