O Come, O Come Emmanuel,

Christ’s birth has been on my mind quite a bit lately, and I want to share my thoughts with you.  You’ve friended me, so you have the option of occasionally reading my musings on life and God.  😉

We are about to celebrate Christmas.  For most it is a time of family and presents.  For some it is a time to recognize the birth of Jesus Christ.  In the years after the prophet Malachi, Israel was calling out, searching, waiting for the savior Isaiah had said would deliver them.  They were looking for a king who would displace the Romans and rule Israel as its own nation.  But instead look at this…

God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) created the universe from nothing.  He is omniscient, living outside of space-time, God knows everything that has ever happened and will ever happen.  Before He created, He knew… He knew Satan would revolt, He knew we would fall, He knew we would sin every day of our lives, and He knew the only way to redeem us from our sins was for Jesus to descend from heaven, live as a man, die in our place, and then be resurrected.  He knew, yet He still created us.  I’m not going to lie.  I don’t fully understand why God would still create us knowing what we would cost Him.

Yet He did create us, so we must be important to Him.  You and I are so important to God that He created the universe to have a relationship with us.  WOW!!!  We have an opportunity to have a short relationship with Him here on earth, but an eternal relationship later.  Don’t miss this opportunity.  Amongst all the happenings during this season, don’t miss the greatest Gift ever given, Jesus.

Emmanuel has come, 2000 years ago, and He will come again.  I am ready for Jesus to come, and I pray that you are as well.  Place your faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior.  Trust in His salvation.

Merry Christmas,

Rob
